The constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand B.E. 2560 (2017) states in Section 60 that "the State must maintain the spectrum and the right to access a satellite orbit,which are national treasures" and was later amended to mandate the NBTC to execute Section 60 on behalf of the State for the greatest benefit of the country and the people
